Man City set to announce signing of Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna

Manchester City are on the verge of confirming the signing of Bacary Sagna from Arsenal, according to reports.

The right-back has agreed a deal that will see him earn at least £120,000-a-week at the Etihad, claims the Guardian.

Sagna, aged 31, is out of contract at the Gunners this summer and it has been apparent for a number of weeks that talks over a new deal were dead in the water.

Arsenal conceded ground on Sagna’s demands in terms of wages and contract length, but weren’t prepared to go as far as the France international wanted them to go.

Instead, he is set to sign a three-year contract at City, who are more than happy to meet his demands.

Sagna will compete with Pablo Zabaleta for a place in Manuel Pellegrini’s Premier League-winning side.

His arrival on a free transfer will help City to balance the books after their recent Financial Fair Play punishment.
